One of our professional driver, on board of a first class car full equipped, will pick you up from your arrival port and lead you through the main beauties of this three important locations. at the end of the tour your driver will bring you back to the port, in time for your boarding.
The frist step is the famous Pompeii city. Every years a lot of tourist from all parts of the world come there to visit its archaeological site became UNESCO heritage in 1997. This archaeological site is unique in the wolrd and very well preserved, infact, it was the preferred destination of the Gran Tour in the 18th century. The houses, the amphitheater with their mosaics and decorations are still a good testimony of the roman era because they have been perfect preserved under the ashes of the Mount Vesuvius eruption in the 79 AD. If you want to give a look also to the other remains like stautes, the most delicated mosaics and other objects found in Pompeii, you could visit the Naples Archeological Museum.
When you arrive in Amalfi, the panorama is wonderful, White houses clinging on the rocks opposethe big Saint Andrew’s Church, located in the middle of town. Amalfi is full of steps including 57 steps to get to the Atrium of the Cattedrale di S.Andrea which overhangs the main square. On the right side of the Cathedral,you’ll find the 12th century church tower and from aboveone can see the chiostro del Paradiso and the Chiesa del Crocifisso. Here one can discover the historical religious past of the Amalfi and its famous Church.
Ravello sits like a natural balcony overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. From where you can look down on Amalfi, Minori and Maiori. The Cathedral San Pantaleone in the heart of Ravello dates back to the 11th century and features an impressive marble pulpit with six lions carved at its base. There is a small Museum in the crypt containing religious artiefacts and marbles takes from Villa Rufolo. Villa Rufolo includes a series of buildings in the Arab-Sicilian style of costruction. Here Boccaccio placed the merry company of the Decameron and Wagner found inspiration and wrote the third act of Parsifal. The villa was built in the 13th century for the wealthy Rufolos and housed several popes, as well as Charles I of Anjou. From the terraces of villa Rufolo there are magnificent views over the bay. The villa’s gardens are the setting for the Festival Musicale di Ravello each June. Villa Cimbrone was built at the beginning of last century in a medieval style. It includes a building with two towers, a courtyard and an open vaulted terrace-room called Cripta. At the end of a straight avenue that cuts through the lush gardens you will find the Belvedere Cimbrone, the most advanced point of the ridge on which Ravello lies, from here you can enjoy one of the most spectacular panoramas in all of Italy.
